Bojana Stamenov: Serbia's Beauty
Eurovision Song Contest is the most beloved TV Show of all times in the entire world, with 60 years of existence this competition is the proof that music brings people and nations together for a better tomorrow, a better world. Every year the participant countries choose the best singer to represent their country in this epic contest, this year Eurovision counts 40 countries and 67 representative artists, among them is Bojana Stamenov from Serbia.
Bojana Stamenov has been singing since she was seven. She attended as many as three sections in the secondary music school – guitar, lute and renaissance singing. She was the finalist of the show "Serbia's Got Talent" in 2012, when she enthralled the audience with her magnificent voice and brilliant interpretation. In Serbia, she is often presented as the Serbian Aretha Franklin.
She cannot imagine her life without music. She doesn't like solitude, which is why she tries to spend as much time as possible with her loved ones. If everyone is busy, Bojana knits and crochets, and also really loves to cook.
When she was little, she wanted to be big, and she started singing because she felt anxious when she only played an instrument. She says her first kiss was clumsy, sweet and nervous. If she gets up on the wrong side of the bed, she goes back to bed, because she doesn't want others to get into trouble because of her bad horoscope. She loves to travel and, in the future, would like to visit France because of art and food, Ireland because of landscapes and beer, America because of everything: blues, cowgirls, bikers, Chicago, musicals, Las Vegas...
We have the special honour to host in 12points.gr the brilliant diamond of Serbia, Bojana Stamenov. One of the most talented artists of Eurovision Song Contest 2015 found some of her precious time to answer some of our questions. We like to thank Bojana from the bottom of our hearts for this.
So, Ms. Bojana you are the representative of Serbia in the 60th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest, how does it feel?
Amazing! First of all, a dream come true and a big responsibility and sense of pride to be selected by your own country to present it.
Eurovision was always your dream as a singer; you have been always a Eurovision fun?
Ever since I can remember in my house the Eurovision was the special event. My whole family was watching it . Yes, I can say that I have been Eurovision fun since I was a little girl.
Who or what was your influence to be a singer?
My father is a musician and he recognized that talent. He referred me to the music, and when I found my way, he let me wheel. The biggest inspiration for practicing music is love of music, in my case, singing.
The amazing song “Beauty Never Lies” is composed by the 2007 winner Vladimir Graic. How do you feel about this cooperation and what this song means to you?
Cooperation with Vladimir Graic is very honest. He is the kind of man, composer and producer that really makes you give your best with such ease. I'm lookinf forward to some future collaborations. „Beauty Never Lies“ is a story about love and how liberation it is to let someone special love you, no matter what your „faults“ are. I feel like i have superpowers and think that I can fly.
Serbia was always a very dissent and inspirational country in this contest, what do you expect from Eurovision?
I expect a lot of positive energy and good music.
And before we close this beautiful interview we kindly want to send a message to the Greek funs of Serbia.
Never give up what/who you love. At the end there is only love! Thank you for spending few moments to read something about me.
Beauty never lies...... and tells only the truth, Bojana is one the most talanted, emotional and touching artist we will ever known.
We eill have the chance to enjoy Bojana Stamenov at the 19th of May in the First Semi-Final.
