Nadav Guedj the Golden Boy of Israel

Israel is one of the most beloved countries in the Eurovision Song Contest, The country joined the Eurovision Family in 1973 with Ilanit and the song "Ey Sham", except four absences, the spirit of Israel shine through the melodies and the lyrics of its songs.
In the history of the competition Israel counts three victories, the first was in 1978 with the song "A-Ba-Ni-Bi" of Izhar Cohen & the Alphabeta, the second one year later with Gali Atari & Milk and Honey and the song "Hallelujah", and the third was in 1998 with Dana International and the historical song “Diva”, a song and an artist that mend to change the course of Eurovision.
This year Eurovision celebrates its 60 years of “life”, and Israel is proud to be represented by the 16 years old artist Nadav Guedj, the boy who just won the TV reality ‘Rising Star’, Israel’s most watched singing competition.
With a powerful voice and a bag full of charm, Nadav brings a fresh combination of European-Mediterranean sounds and influences to the Eurovision song contest.
Golden Boy is the title of the song that Nadav will perform in the stage of Vienna, it was written by Israeli Hit maker Doron Medalie to especially fit the artistic capabilities of the young and charismatic singer, who will one of the youngest participant in this year’s competition. Medalie describes the style of the song as a "Middle Eastern Pop anthem" which fuses together contemporary Pop and R&B with the famous Middle Eastern ethnic beat.

We have the pleasure to host in our site the Shiniest Star of Israel, the Incredible Mr. Nadav Guedj.

Thank you for that honor, to have the presentative of Israel in our site.
Thank you guys for having mesmile

Hello Nadav, we are so happy to have you in our site, how do you feel of being so young and carry the “weight” of an entire nation in such an immense competition like Eurovision Song Contest?
I don’t really feel pressure but I'm super excited and motivated to perform at the Eurovision song contest and represent everybody in my country.

We all have memories of Eurovision from our childhood, do you remember your first “contact” with the competition?
I don't remember my first contact with the Eurovision but I remember seeing the performances of Boaz in 2008 and Harel ska'at in 2010. I also remember myself singing their songs many days after the competition was over.

We all know that Israel is not only a country but a state of mind in this competition, Israel and Dana changed the course of Eurovision after her victory in Birmingham 1998. Eurovision owes much to Israel, unfortunately didn’t make it to the Grand Final since 2010, is that a reason to make you feel more pressure for your performance?
No, it just keeps me motivated even more. I am totally working hard so at the stage I'll be giving one hell of a performance.

The song Golden Boy is made by Doron Medalie, a very special musician for a very special case, do you feel like a Golden Boy? What do you think about the song?
"Golden boy" is all about a broken hearted young guy who decides to get out of his bad mood by taking a break of three minutes and letting himself loose. In real life, I must say, I don’t even have three minutes to take a break from all the preparations to the contest smile

The incredible video of Golden Boy is the creation of Yoav Tsafir & Elad Weissman, and the lovely choreography by Claude Dadia, you will dance also in the stage of Eurovision? Is the video a sneak peek of your performance in Vienna? What we will expect to see in the stage of Eurovision from you?
Well, you'll just have to wait and see for yourself but I can assure you we are planning to rock the stage.

And something for the end…. What is your message to Greek funs of Israel, and believe me they are many!
I feel that the Eurovision competition is all about celebrating music, people and culture. I Hope to Dance together with all my Mediterranean brothers and sisters. Yassou!

That was the one and Only Mr. Nadav Guedj, we wish the best from our hearts to Nadav and Israel. But before the closing of this interview we must tell a few words about the fantastic video clip of the song Golden Boy by Yoav Tsafir & Elad Weissman.
The Music video for the song shows Nadav in the middle of the sunny city that never sleeps - Tel Aviv and was shot in different locations such as the rooftop of the local city hall, in the middle of an urban rave that hosted 60,000 dancing participants and at Rabin’s square, a local well known landmark.

The One and Only C: Real

Few days before the 4 th of March and Eurosong, the Greek final of Eurovision, 12points.gr had the honor to meet the "heart" of the pop group C: Real, Mr. Takis Damaschi. C: Real are probably the most authentic pop group that exists right now in Greece, with an immense presence in the Greek music scene. This year for the first time the renewed complex of C: Real will take part in the Greek National Final for the selection of the song that will represent the country in the stage of Eurovision Song Contest that will been held this May to the beautiful Vienna, Austria.
But before we move on to the interview of Mr. Damaschis let us remember you who are C: Real.
C: REAL started in 1996 by the composer, songwriter and record producer Takis Damaschi, in 2000 they were released in Greece and abroad two albums with English lyrics: Realtime (1997), Stop killing time (2000). Successes of these first two albums like "Visions of you", "Stop killing time" and "With or without you" are considered perhaps the most classic to date!
With the accession of Erene Duke in group in 2002, C: REAL continued their march until 2010 releasing four albums: The biggest love (2003), A thousand years (2004), My every thought (2006), Invain (2008) and the single "Anything worth" in 2010.
So far, C: REAL released 15 Top 10 radio hits (including three No. 1) with Greek and English lyrics, 6 albums and won four awards Arion, 2 awards and 1 MAD Cyprus!
The complex has more than 600 live performances and has opened concerts big names like SAKIRA (Olympic Stadium 2006) and REM (Kalimarmaro 2008)!
Songs like "WITH OR WITHOUT YOU", "STOP KILLING TIME", "I will wait", "Epikindina se Thelo", "Ta pio megala s'agapo" are loved and kept the news from the world for over 16 years!
This time the C: REAL, after their great success "SLEEPLESS NIGHTS" feat. OCEANA, with their new singer (Joe Lazopoulou) make a new beginning with tours and their new single "SACRED LOVE" which circulates and Greek entitled "XILIA MYSTIKA".

At this point we want to thank Mr. Damaschi for the valuable time spent by us for this interview.

    So, Mr. Damaschi C: Real is one of the most long-living and successful group in the Greek music scene, what was your motivation to take part in the Greek final for the contest of Eurovision;
Thank you too much for hosting us in your website. The decision of our participation in the Greek Final was not mine but we decided together as C: Real, our main reason is that we want to introduce ourselves anew to the public, the refreshed C: Real, except me, the rest of the band composed by new members, new talented young artists that the general public does not know them. It is a very nice opportunity to compete, to represent our country in Europe and to re-acquaint with the public.

Each of us equate the Eurovision with various moments of our lives, what does the word Eurovision means for you?
Eurovision for me equal ABBA (Eurovision = Abba). And I say this with joy because I have been very lucky in my life, especially in 1974. I remember watching TV with my family and we all waited anxiously to see the first participation of Greece. That night, however, the ABBA won the top with the song Waterloo, I still remember that I had "stuck" so much with ABBA, so I told my father to buy me the single. Great seasons for the music and the Eurovision, it wasn’t just a TV show, it was the celebration of music! ABBA influenced me as a person and as an artist in the course of my life. So as you can understand my bond with the institution of Eurovision is inextricably tied.

    The unique sound of the C: Real is what made you stand out on stage and in the hearts of your fans, do you think that in the case of Eurovision had to follow a 'recipe' for the creation of Crash and Burn;
C:Real as any artist or band, bring their own stamp, their own style in the music scene, for us there was the so-called "recipe" for the creation of Crash and Burn. Certainly when it comes to a contest like Eurovision where each artist representing an entire country, there must integrations in your own measures as an artist the "symbol" of your country. In our case we chose the bouzouki, if we were Irish Is an Irish harp or if we were Scottish the Scottish bagpipe. It is not simply a creation of the complex, but the representation of Greece through the sound of C: Real, that was the feeling when we created the song Crash and Burn. I hope the song, whatever the result, to be loved by the public as we loved it.

What do you expect from the Greek final at the 4th  of March? What is most important for you to win or to live the experience?
For me personally and for C: Real, the "journey" is the goal, not the result, if we go or not to Eurovision. We want to give the audience a memorable performance, a night that will be remembered throughout their lives. Relevance to the C: Real is the music alone, we want to draw people in music and our pace, the applause and love of the world is the greatest reward for us, and of course for all my fellow artists.

Thank you very much Mr. Takis Damaschi for this honor. We wish to C:Real to make reality every dream and every expectation. From us, good luck in Greek final!

Barrice Sobolev: The Northern Diamond of Greece

The Eurovision song contest became 60, Greece will not be missing this great celebration. This year the public broadcaster NERIT in cooperation with MAD, the most prestigious music channel in Greece, organizing the Eurosong 2015, the Greek National Final at the 4 th of March.
The "diamonds" of the record companies, like every year, take part in the Grand Final, among them is Barrice Sobolev, a young promising brilliant artist with inexhaustible love for music and singing.
Barrice born one cold December on the planet Earth, in one of the coldest countries in the world, Russia. He grew up next to a music and his mother was a professor of music theory and piano. Strange is that I never learned nothing from both. Migrating with their family in Greece became part of the urban scene that was developing in the neighborhoods of Athens and began experimenting with beats, while playing as a deejay ensuring the necessary pocket money, which -like every teenager who respects himself- ate the another day. Passing in Section Marketing & Communication at the Athens University of Economics decided to deal with the music production, composition and lyrics, while he made his first steps in the song, starting collaborations with reggae & rock bands, edging style at club nights & concerts.
Absorbing like a sponge the knowledge of anything which grapples managed to open his own recording and rehearsal studio and finally write his first song for an artist - which, as he imagined himself - would keep away from the mundane sound of Pop scene, combining soul, the rock, the hip hop and electronica. Somewhat thus was born the solo project, Barrice his first song "Do Swinney here."
This period after the award of Amita Motion, choosing from Vegas as their talent and first clip is in Studi preparing his first official single this time as well as a number of special adaptations and videos for the growing audience.
Barrice will take part in the Greek final with the song "Ela". A creation of Niclas Olausson & The Beatbox music and lyrics with a single Chalkiti Victoria, a name closely connected with the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time take part in the competition as a lyricist.

In the 'heat' of preparations Barrice devoted some of his precious time to answer some questions. We thank him warmly for this concession and wish him the best in this difficult National Final!

Well Barrice, being a young artist in the Greek music scene, your selection for Eurosong what it means for you?
An excellent start for my musical journey and a chance to win the honor to represent Greece in the Eurovision.

Eurovision was always a dream for you or suddenly came into your life?
He came suddenly in my life although I think in the past when I saw the winners that I would if I were in their position. (See Alexander Rybak)

What awaits a young artist like you to participate in an institution such as the Greek Final?
I hope everything goes well and we with all my team a magical three minutes. Whatever you follow after that is welcome.

What expectations you have for the 4 th of March?
A perfect look that will bring victory to our team.

Thanks again Barrice for the opportunity given us and at this point we would like to mention a few things about the wonderful Victoria Chalkiti.

Victoria is a multi-talented person she is Singer, Vocal coach, arranger, Backing vocalist and Lyricist. Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. At the age of 10 she moved to Greece with her family.
Her professional singing career started at the age of sixteen with the record "Jump to the Beat" which was released in France, written and produced by her father, Harry Chalkitis, (Composer, Producer, Singer) The album sold more than 40.000 copies under the label of Atoll Music. Conchita Wurst: A Diva’s World

1988, Europe was celebrate the 33rd edition of Eurovision Song Contest, Celine Dion her victory in the competition, and somewhere in the Upper Austria in a town called Gmunden, Neuwirth family celebrate the birth of their son, Tom Neuwirth. Little Tom raised in the Styrian countryside with his family.
With the passing of time Tom knew that he was born to be an artist, his steps led him to graduate from the Graz School of Fashion in 2011, while simultaneously he had already expressed his talent to music and singing. Tom participated in various Austrian TV talent Shows, showing his vocal abilities. But the sleepless artistic “spirit” of Tom was looking for something else, something different, he was searching for his “other half”, and he found it!
In 2011 Tom gave birth to Conchita Wurst, a genius persona that meant to be his alter ego, his artistic creation! Conchita is a bearded Lady, born in the mountain of Colombia, she raised in Germany and her first appearance was in 2011 on the Austrian casting show 'Die große Chance'. She was one of the national contestants for the ESC in 2012, and now she is the Austrian representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014.

Two hearts beating in the same body, a unique combination that only Tom/Conchita can explain the reason of this existence. The birth of Conchita can be traced back to Tom’s lifelong struggle against discrimination. In response, he created a woman with a beard. As a flamboyant statement. As a catalyst to spark discussions on words like “different” and “normal”. As a megaphone through which he can trumpet his convictions loudly and clearly into the world. Because looks, gender and origin are completely “wurst” – Austrian slang for “irrelevant” – when it comes to the dignity and freedom of the individual. “Only the person counts,” says Tom/Conchita. “Everyone should be allowed to live their lives as they see fit, as long as nobody else suffers for it.”     From the ashes of Tom’s past, Conchita rises like a “Phoenix”. Maybe is the reason that Conchita has chosen the song “Rise like the Phoenix” to represent Austria in Eurovision. This song-masterpiece speaks for the “rebirth” after the “destruction”, for the internal strength to keep on living, breathing and creating everything from zero again and again. The powerful melodic voice of Conchita gives all the sense of music and lyrics, and like another “James Bond Girl” she conquer the heart of audience, wherever she appears.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have the special honor to present you the most glamour, classy and unique presence in Eurovision 2014 Ms. Conchita Wurst.

Ms. Conchita Wurst, before we begin I must say that I feel honored and moved for your astonishing presence in our site, you give us some of your Glamour sense.

So, Ms. Wurst, you are the “ambassadress” of Austrian spirit in all Europe, and not only, in the 59th Eurovision Song Contest. How do you feel as an artist and as a person for this immense responsibility?
Ms. Conchita: Wow ehm, first of all I have to say that I don’t see myself as an ambassadress or someone who has responsibilities, I’m just a lucky artist who got the chance to be part of the Eurovision Song Contest. It is a dream come true, but saying that I have to succeed, otherwise it shows that Austria is not good in music, is not the way I think. All of the contestants already won and showed Europe how colorful our musical output is.

Your participation in Eurovision is one of the most discussed in the recent year. The presence of Conchita is not only for the musical part of the contest, behind the “silhouette” is a whole idea, the statement of a “wounded” person from the “arrows” of ignorance. What was your intimate motivations for this “statement”?
Ms. Conchita: It’s because of my teenage years. I had to struggle with discrimination and I decided that I will live my life how I want it. And everybody should feel that way. I want to show everyone that you can achieve anything, not depending on your look. There is more than black and white out there, and we all should accept each other without hate!

The song of Charly Mason, Joey Patulka, Ali Zuckowski, and Julian Maas, “Rise like a Phoenix” is the most astonishing ballad in all history of Eurovision. When I heard you sing it I see my whole life pass in front of my eyes. Your performance is very emotional but simultaneously strong and powerful. How this marvelous song “speak” to your heart?
Ms Conchita: Oh my god, thank you so much! I’m just beyond happy that many people get the string energy which is within this song. I think, as you said, everyone can relate to this message. Going through bad times and growing out as a better and stronger person.

Lots of times Eurovision reminds good or bad moments of our life. What is your special “connection” with this contest?
Ms. Conchita: Happy times, watching the song contest with my mom. Just wonderful memories.

You are a very young Lady, but you have done many things in your carrier. You are multitalented and hard working person. Have you already planned your next steps in your professional life?
Ms. Conchita: Hahaha no not really, I have some ideas but nothing is set at the moment :)

This year Eurovision has lots of ballads, however Greece participates with a dance song, and we know that Ms. Conchita is a “dancing girl”, what do you have to say for the Greek participation?
Ms. Conchita: OMG I’m so in love with the boys! How cute, aren’t they? I really like the song. I was dancing backstage while their performance in London. I have a crush on them, I have to be honest :D

The words are few to express my feelings for Ms. Conchita Wurst. All I have to say is that Ms. Wurst is the definition for the word “DIVA”. She gained our love, respect and support from the beginning of her “journey” in Eurovision Song Contest.

Thank you for the bottom of our heart for this rare “gift”, this beautiful conversation. We wish all the Best for you and our beloved Austria in the 59th Eurovision Song Contest.

You can follow Ms. Conchita Wurst on her Official Site, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
